Half Term Activities in Dudley October 2019
Thanks to funding by the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, in October 2019, 136 young people took the opportunity to join our week of activities designed to engage and occupy them over the half term holidays.
The programme incorporated physical, creative and learning activities designed to challenge and entertain.
We worked together with local partners; Top Church Training, Voice for Choices, Lunch on the Run and organisations in Kates Hill to provide 5 days of free activities.
Katy Hitchinson, our Anger Management and Positive Behaviours specialist commented ‘this programme of events gave us the the ideal opportunity to engage with young people in a relaxed, informal environment. We were able to deliver key messages around positive behaviours and make the young people more aware of the local mental health services they could access’
90% of the young people reported improved well-being as a result of the programme- feeling better and safer about the area where they live
88% of young people said they felt more able to resolve a conflict without violence
Thanks to West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner for funding this week of activities.
